Lord of the Rings Table

Any Lord of the Rings fans out there?
This unique project was a commission based on the symbology of Lord of the Rings for a big fan of the series. I had to prepare the heavy table first , sanding down and removing the existing varnish, to enable a raw surface to work on. The lovely design chosen was the tree on the hilt of the sword, Narsil, which symbolises the White Tree of Gondor, representing hope, renewal, and the restoration of the royal line.
After burning this beautiful design comprised of script and imagery, I again sealed the piece with varnish to protect it and allow the pyrography work to pop. The finished piece was really well received and the client was delighted to add this to his LOTR collection!
It was my first table commission and I really enjoyed working on a bigger scale and sanding back this gorgeous wooden table to then transform it into a themed centrepiece for someone’s home!
