Barleycorn Cottage Sign

This was a hefty project for a lovely homeowner who wanted to replace an old sign with something new and bold and sturdy! She was after a sign which was clear and elegant so the property would be visible from the main road. Initially, I decided on a bold calligraphy typeface with the client and agreed on the type and size of wood. This was an important choice because we needed to make sure that the wood would be hardwearing and weatherproofed for a life outdoors. After finishing the piece and sealing with yacht varnish, I liaised with the local Nonsuch Voles to attach two poles for it to be safely and securely installed into the ground- very grateful for all their support and professionalism with this project!
